Video Overview

Vertical integration is about the effectiveness of HR.  It is the degree to which HRM practice, roles and contributions are aligned with the strategic management process of the organisation and how they contribute to the vision, mission and strategic objectives. Horizontal integration is about the effeciency of HR and is defined as the congruence between HRM policies, practices and implementation of those practices and policies in order to optimise the deployment of human resources. This video looks at these two concepts.
