In South Africa, the smallest amount that you can physically pay someone is five cents. There are no more one cent and two cent coins in circulation, therefore amounts have to be rounded off in order to be paid. Businesses that pay their employees in cash, such as building contractors, experience the same problem. They also have to round their employees’ pay; otherwise they will not be able to place the correct amount in their pay envelopes. In this tutorial you will see how the Net Pay Rounding option in Pastel Payroll can be used to address this problem.
