The external environment

Video Overview
The external environment is made up of all the outside factors that may affect an organisation. It is generally accepted to contain three parts, namely, the micro environment, market (or task) environment, and the macro environment. The micro environment contains the organisation itself, as well as other internal influences, while the market environment consists of external factors that directly influence the organisation. Lastly, the macro environment consists of external factors that indirectly influence the organisation. Since the micro environment is only concerned with internal influences, this tutorial will focus specifically on the market and macro environments.
