In the previous tutorial we focused on the calculation of basic earnings per share. In this tutorial we will look at the impact of a rights issue of shares on the calculation of EPS. What is a rights issue? A rights issue of shares is when existing ordinary shareholders are offered shares at a reduced price, i.e. less than market price. This price is called the exercise price.
