VAT stands for Value Added Tax and it amounts to 14 % of a transaction. So if you are registered as a VAT vendor you need to charge 14 % on top of the amount you are charging for the goods or services provided by you. Once you are a VAT vendor you can claim input tax on purchases made by your business that are necessary for the production or running of your business. In this tutorial we are going to take a look at just how we go about registering for it, and when registration becomes necessary.
