Video Overview

A country’s terms of trade (also called the international terms of trade), is the ratio between the prices of its exports and the prices of its imports. It is calculated by dividing the export price index by the import price index. South Africa’s terms of trade (including and excluding gold), are regularly published in the Quarterly Bulletin of the South African Reserve Bank.
