Very few people in the business world really understand what delegation is all about. The perfectionists among us are reluctant to even consider delegating as we don’t trust others to do things properly. The lazy among us, in contrast, are only too happy to farm out work we don’t feel like doing. Neither approach will result in successful delegation because delegating is actually about managers and supervisors, at all levels of a company, giving another person tasks to do that they usually do themselves. They delegate for the right reasons, to the right staff and using the right methods.
