In this tutorial we wish to explore the petty cash system. We will see how payments made from the petty cash box are recorded in the petty cash journal. We will also see how the petty cash box is replenished or topped-up again at the end of the month, as well as examine how the petty cash account appears in the general ledger, trial balance and financial statements.
